Overview

With remarkable humor and candor, Melissa Seitz casts her gaze inward, on the isolated cocoons where grief, despair, and fear reside. Unlike her running days, where obstacles like a thunderstorm or six inches of snow slowed her down, new demons have appeared: after a grand mal seizure strikes her down, a golf ball-sized tumor is found at the base of her skull. It messes with her speech, her memory, her understanding of her very being. Brain Aura Blues investigates the mysteries of illness, the crippling whirlwind of grief, and the ways we reclaim, as best we can, the glories of life unfurling all around us. Christine Maul Rice, author of Swarm Theory
