Truths from Scripture that I knew were true, but needed to be reminded of, encouraged and uplifted me while I was doing this study though a period of suffering...I found it particularly helpful how Rachel compares the six women studied and their prayers with the Lord's prayer. Rachel lists the six main truths to help you pray bold in the back of the book. This will be a page I reference continually to encourage and strengthen my faith and prayers. Written as a friend having a conversation with you, I could relate to Rachel in many ways throughout the book. This made it more applicable and meaningful. Rachel also does an excellent job of using Scripture from the whole Bible to give validity to what she is teaching. Laid out in an easy to use format, with a 5 day a week study and a bonus video teaching to summarize the week at the end, this study allows for reading daily Scripture passages, reading the teaching about the Scripture, and always gives space at the end to consider how what was read and learned applies to your life, with prompts for personal reflection and prayer. Also helpful is the occasional verse copied in the margin to assist with answering the questions. The questions are not abstract, making this a quality Bible study. Rachel Risner isn't exactly a motormouth, but when it comes to sharing what she's learning about God through the women in the Bible, she's got plenty to say. Studying their stories has changed her life, and she can't keep the life-changing truth to herself.Rachel is an author and the wife of John Risner, lead pastor at MCA, The Church on the Hill, right in the heart of Ohio's beautiful Amish country. Her days as a mom of eight are filled with math lessons, potty training, soccer practice, ministering, and-when she can-sneaking away to clack at the computer or poke her nose into a good book (or better, the Good Book).
