Overview

Be careful what you wish for... When two Aussie adventurers decide to buy a house in France they get more than baguettes and stinky cheese. Wonderful neighbours, horrible drains, fabulous wines and French taxes. After living on a boat in the tropics of Northern Australia for 11 years, Hettie and Boomie have a bright idea. How hard can it be to buy a house in another country? And so the rollercoaster ride of paperwork, bribing French tourists for translations and trying to survive the long haul flight to France begins. A humorous look at embracing the two-hour lunch ... with wine, while trying to fathom French bureaucracy.

Reviews

I truly enjoyed living the adventure along with the Ashwins in this well written book. The pages flipped easily, laughs were spontaneous. I'm still reading Boat to Baguette laughing uproariously. I urge any of my friends who love a great read to check out Hettie's page and buy a book. The one I'm reading is truly wonderful. I loved reading about your adventures in France, I must say I had a few good belly laughs and hope there is another book in the pipeline. A light hearted account of how one couple brought their dream of moving from Australia to France to fruition by filling in forms, one at a time.
