I enjoyed reading this book so much. Not only did this book grab my attention right away, but kept me entertained as well. There's never a dull moment! I finished reading the book rather quickly because the author does an amazing job of describing the characters, making you laugh, and keeping you guessing what'll happen next! I will definitely be on the lookout for Book 2. This story was so good. I literally had to stop myself from reading it in one day. Each character has a story and I love that the author expressed it. Now I'm ready for part 2. This book was awsome. It was full of suspense, drama, humor, family issues, and everyday current issues intertwined into one. Plays on your imagination as well as well as your everyday ordinary perspective of life. Enjoyed. Looking forward to book 2. Thank you Toi Powell for writing this!! Awesome read! I'm not going to ruin it for anyone but you will not regret it! I have been reading on the train to work for 33 years. This is as good as any of the best sellers I have read. Just when you think you know what going to happen next you see a side of the characters that changes the outcome. Hard to put this one down. You get really caught up with the characters, impatient to learn about their mysterious, hidden past. The author leaves tantalizing hints throughout the book, but you'll never guess the truth. Definitely a fun read. Ms Powell is particularly adept at dialog -- you'll love listening to her characters' conversations. As for me, I can't wait for Volume 2. Awesome! Although the book is told in 3rd person, I found myself imagining as if Ruby was telling the story herself. I enjoyed the fact that it takes place in NJ/Queens as I was able to relate to the surrounding areas. I like that the author focuses on multiple characters' situations and then intertwines them throughout. It's definitely a cliff-hanger and never felt bored reading. Things slowly start coming together and just when you think you've uncovered the mystery, the first book ends. Can't wait for the 2nd one! Wonderful book can't wait for the next book couldn't put it down keep up the good work you were born to write.
