OverviewA family split by money and history. One side clings to Juno Brayboy's claim that the Knight heritage is theirs by rights. They will defend their slice of the Currituck Sound against all comers. Their recently impoverished cousins from across the Atlantic are relegated to The Wharf, an old family property in the village of Currituck on the opposite side of the Sound. The conflict between the cousins soon overflows into Dare County, and dead bodies begin to litter the shore. Captain Diane Turnipseed and her new A-District team join with the Currituck County Sheriff's Office and the Coast Guard to protect her constituents before more people turn up dead. When Sergeant Sean Taylor, now the Dare County Drone Operator, is assaulted and takes a tumble down the lighthouse staircase, the investigation takes a personal turn. Will Diane and her team find a way to stem the blood turning the Sound red before all the cousins are dead?
