Overview

Modern society is not insular but a mixed cultural entity. Some, especially old and especially backed by wealthy narrow-minded individuals, live in a different sphere and try to create a different society, not compatible with today's world. In this novel, it creates conflict in that person's family. His own son, as he moved in a different layer of the circle, planned opposite to his liking. Politics is a nasty game; it does not care what happens to people after electing candidates. This novel describes how a doctor gets caught in the crossfire of this plot with a catastrophic outcome. This book also narrates how an independent-thinking British Asian young man tried to swim against the tide.

Navara de Wijoo is a retired head and neck cancer surgeon who worked for over forty years. He has seen the agony of a terrible disease hitting many, though luckily only a few children. Navara has come across patients who opened his eyes to some issues. In his view, we cannot write imaginary stories that readers can't perceive. Even in sci-fi novels, aliens have eyes and ears! His wife is a doctor, a General Practitioner, who is an old-style practitioner and is based in semi-rural Kent. Both used to talk about their own experiences, which made a mark on his mind.
