"When the Universe Has Other Plans for Your Uterus There it was-a super cute, fun, Facebook post from our friend Claire, announcing how ""blessed"" she was to be pregnant. We both wanted to vomit right on top of our phones. The two of us-sisters Lauren and Lacey-had been trying without success to get pregnant for years. We are neither haters nor jealous women who can't handle other people's success. We've had plenty of success of our own, and we are genuinely happy for other people when good things happen to them; we love to celebrate good fortune. All those ladies who may have turned just a wee bit bitchy because their lives have been relegated to blood draws and more time with their feet up in stirrups than they ever thought possible. We wrote this book for you. We are two sisters who have gone through years of infertility and made it out on the other side. We are here to share our story, make you laugh and probably cry, but most importantly, make you feel like you are not alone. We both had the greatest struggles of our lives thrown at us - countless years of IVF, surrogacy, miscarriages, infant loss, and preemies - and we learned that when we shared our stories with other women going through this hell, we were able to lighten their load just a bit. We are two sisters who were Bitches on IVF and we are here to share our story, and hopefully make you realize that if you want a family, then that is what you will get. The Aumiller sisters live within walking distance of each other outside of Baltimore, Maryland, and you will likely see eight wild kids running back and forth between homes. They were born and raised in ""Smaltimore,"" went on to the University of Virginia to play lacrosse, started careers in finance and then EVENTUALLY started families.
