Biogas: A Sustainable Approach for Renewable Energy

Overview

Biogas: A Sustainable Approach for Renewable Energy provides a thorough and updated overview of biogas and biorefinery, emphasizing the circular economy. The book offers practical insights into operating biogas plants, including analytical techniques, operational parameters, and microbial community dynamics of biogas production. Readers gain a deep understanding of the optimal conditions for anaerobic digestion and fermentation processes. The main biomass feedstocks for biogas production, such as agricultural and livestock wastes, industrial waste feedstocks, sewage sludge, and microalgae, are explored. Additionally, the book delves into the latest biogas purification technologies for biomethane production and biogenic carbon dioxide extraction. It offers chapters on techno-economic and life cycle analysis of biogas production, providing readers with new perspectives on developing future biogas projects. An overview of several operating full-scale biogas plants ensures a comprehensive understanding of the topics necessary for efficient biogas plant operations. Graduate and post-graduate students, researchers, scientists, policymakers, and industry practitioners will find this book invaluable and practical for biogas production implementation.
