OverviewAme'de'e Maingard was a young Mauritian studying in London in 1939 who volunteered for the British Army. After a frustrating spell in the infantry, Maingard joining the Special Operations Executive (SOE) and later had a successful career as a leader and peace keeper in France and later Mauritius. Maingard returned to Mauritius and was instrumental in developing the island's tourism and hotel industry. Founder and first Chairman of Air Mauritius, he became one of his country's most successful postwar businessmen before illness cut short his ambition and he died in 1981 at the age of 62. AUTHOR: Born in Yorkshire in 1958 and educated both there and in Surrey, Paul McCue later graduated in International Studies from the University of Birmingham. His working life began with Laker Airways and upon the company's demise he joined the local government service. He is a Deputy Director in an inner London local authority. Interests in local military history led him to research and write Dunsfold, Surrey's Most Secret Airfield which was published in 1992. This was followed by SAS Operation Bullbasket in 1996. Behind Enemy Lines with the SAS is his third book.
