Author Information

The Authors: Elizabeth P. Quintero is Associate Professor of Early Childhood and Elementary Education at the Steinhardt School of Education at New York University. Professor Quintero's teaching, research, and service revolve around interests in early education, family contexts of diverse cultural groups, and biliteracy development. She is the coauthor, with Mary Kay Rummel, of American Voices: Webs of Diversity (1998) and Teachers' Reading/Teachers' Lives (1997). Mary Kay Rummel is a poet and Associate Professor of Literacy Education at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. She is the author of three books of poetry: This Body She's Entered (1990); The Long Journey Into North (1998); and Green Journey, Red Bird (2001).
