Be Strong is a really good daily devotional for men. The devotionals are short and straightforward, able to keep a man's attention without taking up too much of his time. The Bible verses are carefully chosen, and the explanations provide good advice and personal honesty -- which I can appreciate. The prayers at the end of each page make for a good script/prayer guide as well. Keep in mind, however, that these devotionals are not organized in chronological order of the Bible, and some characters are mentioned with the assumption that the reader already knows about them -- so this requires some level of familiarity with the Bible. I wouldn't recommend gifting this to nonbelievers/entirely new believers, unless you'll be there to help guide them through it. But the good thing is that I feel just as comfortable giving this devotional to my strict Christian dad, as well as to my boyfriend who is somewhat familiar but doesn't quite consider himself a believer (yet). - NG ( Amazon) Great read to strengthen your relationship with God. The book covers various bible verse, an explanation from the author and a daily prayer for each day for the entire year. I gifted this to my dad who after a few weeks of reading is liking it and the fact that it's about a page, page and a half helps with his busy schedule. Even though the parts are short they make the reader dive into thinking and examining the verse and the author's explanation. Anders Bennett does a great job with the explanations and I would recommend this to any man (men) in your life. - Veronica (Amazon) My husband has loved this devotional. We have had more conversations about faith and The Bible than we did when he was taking his catechism classes. He's not a big reader so I worry about getting him books. Traditionally he starts it and it gets forgotten. The daily readings are short and concise.
