"James Allen (1864-1912) was a British writer and pioneer of the self-help movement. Born to a working-class family in Leicester, England, Allen left school at age fifteen, after which he worked as a private secretary and later as a magazine writer. In 1902, he began to publish his own spiritual magazine, The Light of Reason. Over the course of his life, Allen wrote nineteen books, some of which include As a Man Thinketh, Eight Pillars of Prosperity, Above Life's Turmoil, From Passion to Peace, and From Poverty to Power. P. J. Ochlan is an actor and voiceover artist who has narrated hundreds of audiobooks and is the recipient of an Audie Award and several AudioFile Earphones Awards. Ray Porter is a prolific voice actor that has recorded for over 100 audio books and dozens of television series, video games and video shorts. Among his wide variety of audiobook credits are The Silver Linings Playbook, The Black Hole War, and the Joe Ledger series. He claims, ""With every book I've done, I have found that the author has a voice and if I can just do my best to stay out of the way of that voice, then the writer will convey what he's trying to put across.
