When Regionalist painter Thomas Hart Benton's corpse is discovered behind the easels of Manhattan's famed art school, whispers in the art community say he had it coming. As Benton's list of enemies lengthens to include League instructors, Vietnam War protesters, and members of Andy Warhol's entourage, one art student is ultimately pinned for the crime. Helen A. Harrison is the author of the Art of Murder Mysteries as well as numerous nonfiction publications, including Hamptons Bohemia: Two Centuries of Artists and Writers on the Beach, which she co-authored. A former visual-arts commentator for NPR and art reviewer for The New York Times, she is the director of the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center. He holds a BA in theater from the University of Toledo and an MFA in acting from the California Institute of the Arts. His experience on stage includes Carnegie Hall, and he has also acted in film. He has served on the faculty at Cal Arts and with Aquila Morong Studio in Hollywood. He has coached for film and theatrical productions and continues to work with private clients all over the world.
