Jose-A. Godoy is curator of Arms and Armour at the Musee d'art et d'histoire in Geneva. He is one of the foremost experts in the world on these subjects. He has co-curated (with Stuart Pyhrr) the exhibit and catalogue 'Heroic Armor of the Italian Renaissance' (New York, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1998-1999) and 'Parures Triomphales. Le manierisme dans l'art de l'armure italienne' (Geneva and Milan, 2003). His latest work is an essay on the armour depicted by Paolo Uccello in his painting on the battle of San Romano (Uffizi Gallery).
