Dr. Simon Kumar Das is an Associate Professor and a distinguished fish biologist with over 15 years of research and teaching experience at the National University of Malaysia. His research interests encompass fish biology, fisheries, and aquaculture, with a primary focus on understanding how fish respond to urgent environmental challenges such as rising temperatures and CO2 induced ocean acidification. Dr. Das's research plays a pivotal role in shaping critical management decisions, ensuring the sustainability of aquatic populations amidst unprecedented changes. With an impressive track record of over 100 peer-reviewed publications and more than 40 conference presentations, as well as authorship of two books, Dr. Das also leads diverse research projects and has supervised 22 postgraduate and 13 undergraduate students. He is a member of esteemed organizations, including the Fisheries Society of the British Isles and the American Fisheries Society.
