As an Associate Professor he was responsible for the Neuroradiology Unit of Berlin University, and he later became Professor of Neuroradiology at Turin University. During these activities, he was always mainly interested in angiographic studies of the cerebral vessels, in the diagnosis of cerebral vascular pathology, and in the possibilities offered by endovascular therapy.
