Reviews

This book contains much valuable information on a lot of different aspects related to farm animal endocrinology in general and, specifically, on many different types of manipulations of the endocrine system... A lot of good illustrations make the book useful as a handbook to look-up chemical formulas, metabolic pathways and overview charts of the mechanisms of action of different hormones.... People working with (agricultural) politics, as food authorities, or in consumer organizations will also benefit from reading this book. Since both advantages and disadvantages are described it gives them a good scientifically-based background on which to base their decision to be either for or against a given animal manipulating technology.
