He has previously served as the Johnson & Johnson Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School and Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, having been a successful clinician, educator and researcher in the cardiovascular field. My research focuses on microcirculation of the heart, brain and other organs as it relates to vasomotor regulation, permeability and collateral development. Dr Sellke is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery and the Circulation Journal, Guest Editor for Circulation, and serve as a member of several other editorial boards. He is Editor in Chief of the last 3 editions of Sabiston and Spencers' Textbook ""Surgery of the Chest"" and the Editor of the 1st and 2nd editions of “Atlas of Cardiac Surgery”.
