Hong Jiang, MD, PhD Department of Anesthesiology, Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Shanghai, China Research interests: difficult airway management based on artificial intelligence, anesthesia and neurodevelopment, and head, neck and maxillofacial anesthesia Dr Hong Jiang completed her Master’s in Anesthesiology and Doctor of Philosophy degree in Dental Medicine at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Her doctoral supervisor is Prof. Zhiyuan Zhang, an academician of the Chinese Engineering Academy, who is also known as one of the most outstanding oral and maxillofacial surgeons in China. After graduation, she came to Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and now she is serving as the Director of the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. She also holds two adjunct appointments as Professor and PhD supervisor in Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Dr Hong Jiang has been appointed as the permanent member of the Federation of Asian Dental Anesthesiology Societies (FADAS) Council since 2008. She was elected as Chairman of Chinese Society of Stomatological Anesthesiology from 2015 to 2018. Since 2018, She was voted as Chairman-elect of Shanghai Society of Anesthesiology. Since 2019, Dr Hong Jiang has also served as President of Chinese Society of Plastics and Aesthetics Anesthesia. Dr Hong Jiang has been recognized for her contributions in advancing the discipline of perioperative managements especially for oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr Hong Jiang also has significant experience in scientific publishing, having served for three years as Deputy Editor of China of Journal of Dental Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (JDAPM). She has presided over 15 research projects founded by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) or provincial and ministerial level founds. Dr Hong Jiang has published more than 80 SCI papers. In addition, she has authorized more than 200 international and Chinese invention patents and other independent intellectual property rights. The research and application of anesthesia strategy and perioperative organ protection for head, neck and maxillofacial surgery, which she presided over and completed, won the first prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award in 2016, and The research of perioperative difficult airway management won the second prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award in 2006. Dr Hong Jiang was also awarded National Pioneer of Women's Work, Shanghai Leading Talent, Shanghai Excellent Academic Pacesetter, Shanghai Pioneer of Women's Innovation, etc. These awards are given to individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to public health, medical education and disciplinary construction inChina. Dr. Ming Xia is a graduate of the Second Military Medical University (PhD), post-doctoral fellowship in the State Key Discipline of Anesthesiology. Dr. Ming Xia has published 60 SCI, EI and other scientific papers; edited (translated) 11 monographs; held 250 independent intellectual property rights such as international patents, national invention patents, utility model patents, design patents, computer software copyrights and successfully transformed; presided over 23 national, provincial and ministerial level, city and university level projects. Dr. Ming Xia currently serves as national youth member of the Chinese Stomatological Association's Stomatological Anesthesia Committee, national member of the Chinese Plastic and Reconstructive Association's Anesthesia and Sedation Committee, national member of the National Youth Committee of the Oral Anesthesia Committee of the Chinese Society of Stomatology, youth member of the Tumor Anesthesia and Analgesia Branch of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, and member of the Cancer Pain Group of the Pain Specialty Branch of the Shanghai Medical Association.
