OverviewThis book is written for women going through a separation or divorce. It provides valuable suggestions and advice to help readers negotiate their way through this difficult process and to assist them in managing their children's reactions. It is written in a conversational and easy to read style. The author, Dr. Barbara Dydyk, is a clinical psychologist and a family therapist with over thirty years experience working with children, couples and families. Dr. Dydyk received her doctoral training at Loyola University of Chicago and a post-doctoral degree from McMaster University and Chedoke Child and Family Centre in Hamilton, Ontario. She also completed an internship and advanced internship at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Centre. Dr. Dydyk developed the INTERFACE Service at Thistletown Regional Centre in Toronto, an innovative family-focused service for troubled children and their families. She also researched and developed a unit that admitted whole families for intensive assessment and treatment. Dr. Dydyk currently consults to a number of treatment services in the Toronto area and has an active private practice.
