Overview

This book chronicles the experiences of an American Patriot during Operation Iraqi Freedom III/OIF III (2004-2006). The journey begins with a soldier describing an absolutely useless six month train-up at Fort Bliss, Texas and ends with him leaving California's 40th Division National Guard headquarters, at Los Alamitos, CA never to return. The incarceration of American soldiers was perpetrated under the guise of a refresher and basic train-up. A train-up that was so poorly conceptualized, planned, and implemented that it ended one patriot's desire ever to serve as a member of the United States Armed Forces in any capacity ever again. The train-up was not just a failure of military leadership, but a governmental fiasco that showed the lack of confidence Active Duty Army Leadership had in National Guard soldiers, even if they were honorably discharged veterans. You will follow the experiences of an honorably discharged infantry soldier, who voluntarily reenlisted back into the infantry, because of the unimaginably horrific terrorist attack which occurred on September 11, 2001, New York City, NY. Saying goodbye to his family and friends, this police detective left his career to fight for, and defend his country in a foreign land. What happened? What disillusioned and frustrated him to such an extent? What foundational correlations did he make with historical events and figures to this experience? How did he see the internal health and direction of American society during this era? In spite of what he endured, God, Country, and Justice continued to be the foundations for his beliefs.
