Overview

A new generation. A dangerous town. Can an immigrant family make room for new traditions? Portland, 1854. David Kaplan dreams of a fresh start. But when he and his family arrive in Oregon, he's surprised to find the rules of the past no longer apply. As David and Myra fight to claim what's rightfully theirs, the Jewish businessman wonders if the changing world has any place for him at all. William Kaplan has seen his share of tragedy on the journey westward. As he matures in a world so different from the one his parents experienced, he endures love and loss and seeks to carve out his own path. But as the country around him turns cruel and cold, he hopes to leave a lasting impact to make life better for the ones he leaves behind. Can multiple generations of Kaplans survive the spirit-crushing hazards of an ever-changing America, or will the evolving nation swallow them whole? American Journeys: The Pacific Northwest and the Oregon Trail is the second book in the heart-wrenching historical fiction series. If you like multi-generational sagas, beautifully-wrought settings, and stories of the human experience, then you'll love Richard Alan's rugged tale. Buy American Journeys: The Pacific Northwest and the Oregon Trail to follow a family's fortune today!

AndySB 5.0 out of 5 starsThe Whole Series is worth reading! June 30, 2019 Format: eBook EditionVerified Purchase I have read all of the books in the series and was very impressed with the authors research and his story telling skills! The books have a good balance of good vs evil and will keep you reading to see what happens to the characters. I read where the author is working on his next novel, I look forward to the publishing date!
