Overview

"My beloved Queen Mum Deli sat on her green old couch, musing about the thought how to die best, because of Alzheimer Demons whispering permanently in her ear she should die and kill herself. During her attacks by Uncle Alzheimer's demons, I lost it all - my friends, my socials, my passions, my singing voice and in the end, my job, my partner & my car by accident. My beautiful opera voice called it quits, but a tiny inner voice started telling me: ""Paint!"" ""No talent, I am a singer!"" Asking my best friend, Mr. Bear, if I was getting Alzheimers' too because of this voice in my head, he paused, then asked: ""Do you have material? I nodded. Then he said: ""Don't ask, just do it! It's a message from your soul!"" During the summer I did, sitting naked on my balcony with colours, pencils, paper, glitter & even nail colours all around. Here is the result - the picture & story book of how I ended up supporting beloved Queen Mum Deli's soul on her way to heaven and creating my naive painting art.... It's a dramatic, loving & humourous story of a unique mother & her only daughter. My picturebook tells the story in a short with pictures. For the persons who love to read the novel, you can find it under the title - THE END OF THE SONG - and in German - Das Ende vom Lied."

Author Information

Dr. Karin Wettig is a German Musicologist who lost her speaking voice after her divorce, found her lost voice by studying videos from Maria Callas and developped her Coloratura Soprano voice. Then she wrote books about opera singing, vocal technique & ergonomic body training for singing singing. As a writer, she started during her childhood with poetry & short stories, now published under the pseudonym of Anina Toskani. Her autobiographic Novel - the End of the Song - about her mothers' last years with Alzheimers' Disease, overwhelming changes in her personal life, becoming socially isolated, burntout, loosing passions, her friends, her partner, her job, her car & nearly herself, describes in a dramatic & humourous way how she supported her mothers' soul to go to heaven in the end and how she found back to a fulfilled life by couchsurfing, blablacar, hosting students, meeting gurus, having a love affair with a young student, meeting the Holy Spirit with his Holy laughter & being honoured by a visit of Jesus Christ in person in her livingroom. It sounds like fantasy, but it is amazingly true & very touching to read... Moreover she started painting during this time and her paintings in naive style are part of this story.
