Overview

"""Hilarious and subversive."" —Kirkus G is determined to go first in the alphabet, but does that mean reading will be destroyed This witty picture book about the order of the alphabet is laugh-out-loud funny!  When G wants to be first in the alphabet song, A has a BIG problem! G can’t be first. Not today, not tomorrow, and not next week. NEVER! A tells G if they change the order of the alphabet song, no one will learn how to read, and reading will be DESTROYED! Will reading be destroyed if G is first G is willing to find out! Filled with laugh-out-loud humor, Beth Bacon and Karen Kane’s witty wordplay is perfectly paired with Eric Barclay’s colorful characters. You’ll never sing the alphabet song the same way again!  "

Author Information

Beth Bacon earned an MFA in Writing for Children from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She also has a degree in Communications from NYU and a degree in Literature from Harvard. She previously worked with Apple on communications and marketing as well as in elementary school education.   Eric Barclay gets his inspiration from his children, his animals, and the funny quirks he notices in the humans he meets. He is the author and illustrator of the first Sheep Dog and Sheep Sheep book as well as Hiding Phil, I Can See Just Fine, and Counting Dogs. He lives in Texas with his wife, two daughters, one dog, two cats, and five fish. A city ordinance still prevents him from owning sheep at this time. You can visit him at www.ericbarclay.com.
