Author Information

Barry Padolsky B.Arch. M.Sc (urban design) OAA, FRAIC, CAHP, RCAwas born in Winnipeg's north end in 1939. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from the University of Manitoba and his Master's Degree in Urban Design from the University of Edinburgh. Barry lives in Ottawa with his partner Evelyn Stone. He practised architecture between 1969 and 2020. He now advises his peers and clients on heritage conservation and urban design matters. Barry was honoured with the Order of Ottawa in 2021. He is a keen tennis player and won the Canadian ITF Masters 85+ singles title in 2024.
