Akagawa Station is a railway station on the JR East minato Line located in the city of Mutsu, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. It is 53.2 rail kilometers from the terminus of the minato Line at Noheji Station. Akagawa Station was opened on September 25, 1921 as Tanabu Station on the Japanese Government Railways (JGR). It was renamed to its present name on December 1, 1941. All freight operations were discontinued as of March 15, 1972, after which time the station was unattended. With the privatization of the Japan National Railways on April 1, 1987, it came under the operational control of JR East.
