OverviewAgrobiodiversity is associated with places where farmers have been established for several generations, using natural resources in a sustainable manner. These populations have their own way of life that characterizes them as traditional. They receive relatively little external influence in terms of technology and are usually located in rural areas, where they are often referred to as ""communities"" and/or 'peoples' and receive different names such as ""sertanejo,"" ""pantaneiro,"" and others. In addition to these classifications, others have been used to characterize rural populations, such as the term ""morroquiano."" This term, recognized by the natural farmers of the rural community of Nossa Senhora da Guia, derives from two aspects: the way of life of the local population and the geographical location. This is a community that develops agricultural practices based on cultural patterns rooted in Brazil's colonial past, the result of a long tradition of agriculture and livestock farming and the use of natural elements from the Cerrado biome for several generations.
