Advances in Synthetic Healthcare Data: Opportunities, Challenges, and Emerging Trends

Overview

Advances in synthetic healthcare data transform the way medical research, innovation, and patient care are approached in the digital age. By generating realistic but artificial patient data, synthetic data offers a powerful solution to privacy concerns, data scarcity, and bias in healthcare analytics. This technology opens new opportunities for training AI models, accelerating clinical trials, and improving healthcare delivery without compromising patient confidentiality. Alongside its potential come significant challenges, including concerns about data quality, ethical use, and regulatory oversight. As the field evolves, understanding the opportunities, challenges, and emerging trends in synthetic healthcare data may help harnessing its full potential responsibly and effectively. Advances in Synthetic Healthcare Data: Opportunities, Challenges, and Emerging Trends explores the evolving field of synthetic data within the healthcare domain, highlighting its transformative potential across clinical research, digital health, and public policy. It examines state-of-the-art synthetic data generation techniques, including AI-driven models, identifying key trends shaping the future of synthetic data in healthcare innovation and systems integration. This book covers topics such as medical technologies, public policy, and digital technology, and is a useful resource for medical and healthcare professionals, academicians, researchers, and data scientists.
