Author Information

Dr. Nicole L. Snyder is a Professor of Chemistry and Assistant Dean for Research and Creative Works at Davidson College in North Carolina. She earned dual B.S. degrees in chemistry and biology from Westminster College in 2000 and completed her Ph.D. in bioorganic chemistry at the University of Connecticut in 2005, focusing on ring-expanded carbohydrate analogs. Her teaching includes courses such as Introduction to Organic Chemistry, Experimental Organic Chemistry, and Immunology and Immunopharmacology. Her research focuses on synthesizing biologically relevant carbohydrate-based constructs and catalysts, with applications in cancer research and host-pathogen interactions. Dr. Snyder has mentored nearly 50 undergraduate students, many of whom have received national honors such as the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and NSF Graduate Research Fellowships. She also serves on the Executive Board of the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR), where she promotes inclusive and transformative undergraduate research experiences.
