He has received the NIMH Research Scientist Development Award and directed the NIMH Center for the Study of Neuroses at UCSF. He developed and directed the Second Opinion Consultations on Psychotherapy Treatments Program and the Survivors Clinic at Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute.
