OverviewWe are living in a paradigm change. This can be unsettling. I have written this book so that we can take our time and gently, and colorfully, consider the decisions and choices before us. Many of us find this art-talk mix calming. There is a new pattern of inner power, interdependence and abundance in our world. Technology on our planet has answered so many of our needs for information, interconnection, food, clothing, and shelter. We have the means for clean water, air and soil to grow and sustain ourselves for whatever we might desire. We can pretty much think up any answer for almost anything. Well, we have all of these things ... we don't share very well however, so not everyone has access to this abundance. Needy leaders teach, preach and broadcast their fear, greed, violence and abuse. Many of us have grown up shivering from the hurt. Our stories, our cultural rules, are filled with scarcity and ignorance. But the resources and details of the world are close at hand: they may only be as far away as the phones in our back pockets. We have the power to create vibrant, heart-centered lives with each other. We could, if we wanted, start telling ourselves stories of abundance, instead of scarcity; of inner-power, instead of bully-violence; of interdependence, instead of greed. We could mend our wounds, and restore our faith. I am thinking that we can practice telling these new wisdoms here, in this luscious, colorful art journal. As you add in your own doodles and embellishments, talk with yourself, your family, your friends about which affirmations work for you the best and why, or add in quotes that you like better. In what ways have you been taught personal worthlessness, and in which ways have you been taught generosity? What new lessons will heal old confusions? Peruse and ponder these pages. What brings you peace? What inspires and delights you? All things are possible. Art making is possible. Healing is possible. Abundance is possible. Love is a fact, as it always has been.
