A snowman with a plan A snowman happily rolls snowballs and his animal friends look on. They wonder what he is doing and suggest all kinds of possibilities. They hide and keep a close eye on the snowman. Finally, the snowman finishes his work: he has made a snow friend. And together they set off on a journey! The fact is very recognisable: not knowing what someone is doing and then making it up as they go along. Children will certainly recognise themselves in this and also bring up situations where they try to guess what someone is doing. The striking layout definitely adds value to the story! It plays with font size and text directions. In an original way, the text is incorporated into the drawings. It makes the booklet extra appealing to be read aloud. The prints themselves are also funny, caricatural and original. Lots of white and blue form a clear contrast to the colourful collection of animals that are clearly on the side as spectators, but still play an important role in the story.
