"Daniel Hertel Cournoyer started 2nd grade in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio at age 7 knowing only the words ""bread, butter"" two weeks after the family's immigration from Quebec, he being a 20th generation French Canadian, paternal. (13th maternal). He ultimately obtained his BA in History from The Cleveland State University for which he wrote the first undergraduate thesis. He went on to work for Canada as a diplomat in Philadelphia and afterwards being quite interested in art and literature: appreciation and production, he delved into both. Photographic and painted works (using his original EXTRUSION technique, never before used in Art) for which he received many honors, and many works are in collections around the world; was at one point European correspondent for Photograph Collector Magazine, and wrote for Daytona Today, Christopher Street among others.
