Overview

"God is not hiding, He is waiting. It takes courage, sometimes an enormous amount, to admit you have been wrong, especially if you have been wrong for a long time. All of us are prodigals at one time or another in our lives and with our relationships. We give up on God. He never gives up on us. We might look at our lives and say, """"Yeah, I know He forgives, butHe would never forgive me. Look at what I've done."""" Well, He knows every beat of our hearts, every breath we take. He certainly knows the bad we've done and the good we've done. He's there, waiting."

"""This is an intimate book, searing at times. But it's beautiful, universal in its touch. Hugh McMahon is vulnerable and open, but he shows us the beauty not only of what God has done in his life through sports, but what beautiful things God can do in our lives too. Truly, this is a book worth reading and even praying through."" --Joshua J. Whitfield, author of The Crisis of Bad Preaching ""As a Catholic parish priest in a mission diocese in the Bible Belt, I am always visiting with people about life and faith. This book does an excellent job of bringing to the reader real life experiences of a man's struggles, achievements, and finally submission of trust in God. As Christians, we do spend time searching, praying, and learning to trust God. This book shares ways to look at those things and challenges the reader to take exactly what the title suggests--'a leap of faith.'"" --Hank Lanik, rector, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception ""This is a heart-warming story told with full truth about the author's life. Hugh McMahon speaks with honesty in vivid detail. He is not just telling us about his life. He is teaching us all about life. He puts his finger on some of life's mysteries, starting with his own. He speaks of life and death with heart-wrenching honesty. Things began to come together after he discovered spending time with God."" --Frederick Zagone, SJ, university chaplain, Marquette University"
