A Lady of Letters

Overview

Articulate and intelligent, Lady Augusta Peabody avoids Society's censure by secretly publishing her political essays under the pen name ""Firebrand."" But despite all outward efforts to behave like a proper lady at the balls she can't avoid attending, she finds herself tripping into awkward encounters with the roguish Earl of Dunham and igniting a fiery war of words between them. Bored with life as a rake, Marcus has decided to use his position in Parliament to champion Firebrand's cause, never dreaming that the reclusive writer is the headstrong young lady with whom he's constantly clashing. When the truth comes out, Augusta reluctantly allows Marcus to help her investigate the gentleman she suspects of running a dastardly criminal enterprise. Sparks continue to fly between them-and accidentally ignites new passions that could destroy them both if their cunning enemy has his way...

Author Information

I started creating books at the age of five, or so my mother tells me. And she has the proof-a neatly penciled story, the pages lavishly illustrated with full color crayon drawings of horses and bound with staples-to back up her claim. I have since moved on from Westerns to writing about Regency England (clearly I have a thing for Men In Boots!) a time and place that has captured my imagination ever since I opened the covers of Jane Austen's ""Pride and Prejudice.""I have a BA and an MFA in Graphic Design from Yale University, where I studied book design (As you see, I've always had a left brain-right brain love affair with art and the printed word.) These days, when I'm not tethered to my keyboard I enjoy traveling to interesting destinations around the world-however, my favorite spot is London, where the esoteric museums, funky antique markets and used book stores offer a wealth of inspiration for my stories.
