The narrative is indeed both entertaining and educational, told from a Christian perspective and targeted especially for girls 12-16 with a special interest in history. It would lend itself well to being read aloud in family and/or home-school settings. Mark Scheel My girls (and me too!) loved Kathy J. Perry's story of Emeline, a teen thrown into facing many trials she wouldn't have chosen on her own. This book shows positive character qualities under pressure and in struggles of this life, while still showing hope and potential for joy in the midst of struggles. I highly recommend this to all teens, and adults alike! Can't wait to read the sequel! Dyson Cool

Of the many jobs I've held in the past, teaching was one of the most enjoyable for me because investing in kids is so important. To this end, I continue to encourage good character with clean, moral stories kids and teens love to read. Good books make such an impact! Writing is hard work, but there's nothing like a good story to run off with your imagination. When things are flowing, it's like a vacation! Sometimes the best ideas come in the middle of the night.When not writing, you'll find me painting with watercolor, doing school visits, writing a blog, interviewing other writers, designing websites, working as an administrative assistant part-time, and renovating houses. Is this retirement? Apparently so! I'm loving every minute of it with my husband of 42 years. I was born and raised with one brother and two sisters in Trento, Italy. I always loved books, excelled in art, and wanted to be an illustrator someday. My parents did not want me to become an artist, but a nurse, so that's what I did for a while.Eventually, I moved to London for a year to learn English, and then went to California. There I worked as an au pair before becoming a student at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco where I graduated with a BFA in art. My professional art career started from there.I have enjoyed illustrating children's books for sixteen years now and I also teach art part-time in a primary school. I currently make my home with my husband and two dogs in New Zealand. We have lived here for fifteen years and love it.
