Overview

In this novel of self-discovery Mark Green, a beginning teacher, struggles to find his way into his profession and then into a complicated marriage. He soon becomes immersed in the esoteric teachings of a charismatic guru who is conveying the teachings of Georgian mystic, Gurdjieff. Unintentionally, Mark finds himself pulled into the political chaos of the nineteen sixties. And, finally there is the search for ""peace and quiet.""

Author Information

Karl Rodman has taught grade school and college. He operated a children's summer camp and his own neighborhood school. His doctorate from Columbia University is in comparative education and he ran a business taking teachers on foreign study tours for which they received graduate credits. He has written two previous books: A School Named For Thoreau and Comes The Revolution. He lives with his wife in New Paltz, NY.
