OverviewThere is the romance of a time gone by. The romance of flight and that eternal, fiery romance between a man and woman. This book captures all three. In A Dangerous Mission, the author brings his passion for the United States Air Force, and the 1940s era women who revolutionized it, to life on every page. This fictional story is a tribute to the WASPS of World War II. The Women Air Service Pilots who flew to free up male pilots for combat duty. The women who flew risky test flights when even some men feared or hesitated to go. The women who proved they had wings - and would not be kept down. Against the will of her controlling father, Kelly Rossiter reports to Sweetwater, Texas to join the WASP program. Unlike many of her peers, Kelly already has extensive flying hours and, more significantly, a natural ability you can't just learn. This powerful duo gets her swiftly assigned to a perilous mission. Kelly's fearless heart has a wingspan as expansive as the American Bald Eagle - bigger than a man. Bigger than even her new husband, a towering General in the Air Force. But will Kelly pay a price... and if so, how great? Early in life his ambitions were both to write and play the piano. It was as an officer in the Air Force during the Vietnam era that he developed a passion for aviation. Years later a conversation at a dinner party with a former WASP (Women Air Service Pilots) inspired him to write about these brave and mostly forgotten women. Mr. Brandriff held an MBA and a master's in education. Before embarking on his writing career, he managed finances at Yale University, taught high school and was on Southern Connecticut State University's adjunct faculty. Lisa Brandriff is a New England based writer/editor currently working in the advertising industry. And like all copywriters, she has several unproduced feature film screenplays in her back pocket. Lisa is an alumna of Manhattanville College (back in the eighties when life was more fun) but her most important affiliation is with the King Of Kings and Lord Of Lords. Lisa and her sister Leigh Ann are the daughters of Welles Brandriff Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
