Overview

There are many books which set out the case for Islam or for Christianity and point out what they regard as defects in the other religion. This book does that, but it seeks to do so in the form of a workbook which groups of Christians or Muslims might use, and it is conducted in a spirit where truth is paramount but so too is kindness and civility. The two authors have become friends and hope that this can be detected in the exchanges. As the major doctrines of each religion are dealt with, we are conscious that these doctrines are important and need to be examined rigorously and charitably. We hope we have succeeded to some degree at least.

Reviews

"""This is not the first dialogue between a Muslim and a Christian that I have read, but it is one of the best. Respectful, informative, open--a model of dialogue and a mine of information. It will be helpful to Christians and Muslims alike."" --David Robertson, director, ASK (ENC) ""This book has great value because it highlights many of the central issues that distinguish Islamic and Christian worldviews. Here we have two highly intelligent friends, a Muslim and a Christian, articulating in their own ways the fundamentals in which they passionately believe and responding to each other's critiques. That makes for an absorbing read."" --Mike Wilson, former cross cultural ministry coordinator, Presbyterian Church of New South Wales ""Christianity is definitely of Jesus but not from Jesus. This is what my Muslim friend has attempted to show in this friendly debate with our Christian brother. Nevertheless, this book provides a deep reflection on many aspects of the two major religions with an open mind from both sides demonstrating the brotherhood that can exist between the two religions."" --Ali Khalfan, Muslim"
