Reviews

I was hooked from the moment the house was described. It was clear something eerie and terrible was going to happen, and Mickey Martin didn't disappoint. I remained on edge throughout because everything seemed one way on the surface, and in reality, it was worse. The changing POV between Ariel, Jaxon, and other characters added insight and depth to the story. I enjoyed how effortlessly and masterfully Martin weaved the past and present and the normal and paranormal. A Chilling Summer in Inglewood - another novel by Martin that is a truly gripping read.Sonee Singh - Award-winning author of the Soul-Seeker Collection and Lonely DoveA Chilling Summer in Inglewood ticks all the boxes if you're after a creepy paranormal thriller with a side of sexy romance.I could not put this book down. Such a page turner. Ariel and her family have some seriously spooky activity going on in their house, and don't realise how closely they're tied to their poltergeists. Mickey has a brilliant ability to weave interesting and endearing characters, intriguing back story and exciting suspense all together, while touching on important issues around mental health and familial bonds. Another sensational book by a talented indie author. Danielle Hughes - Author/PublisherWow! Mickey Martin never disappoints! Just when you think everything is resolved within her plot, there are always plenty of unexpected twists and turns that kept me hanging. I teetered on the edge of, 'this is too much' then she leaves me wanting more, and gives it! Martin's mind has always fascinated me, and once again, one of her creations has lived up to my expectations. A Chilling Summer in Inglewood is another novel I will re-read. Sally Taylor - L2P Project Officer - Frankston City CouncilMickey Martin weaves her magic again, dipping her toe into the paranormal genre she has created a spine-chilling story that will raise the hairs on the back of your neck. For the readers who love her style of writing, she stays true to herself. After the tragic loss of their mother, Ariel Harper adopted her young siblings, Hawk and Wren, 15-year-old twins and younger brother Timmy, 7 years. They moved back to the family home in the country town of Inglewood. She had many happy memories from her childhood staying with her Grandparents in their beautiful Victorian Mansion and thought this would be the perfect home in which to raise the children. After settling in and adjusting to the noises a 200-year-old house makes they all enjoyed the new country lifestyle, but that was all about to change. An unsettling disturbing presence started to interfere with their happy, settled lives. It was not just banging doors in the middle of the night but something more sinister, taking over and terrifying everyone. I loved every moment!Sue Croft - Editor, Author and HistorianMickey Martin has done it again! Her first attempt at paranormal horror is a page turner. Warning, if you start this book be prepared to be lured in by Mickey's prose until the very end. I abandoned all my other reading material for the 4 days it took me to finish the book. It is a story set in the town of Inglewood, a house and the chilling secrets that it holds inside despite its beautiful welcoming facade. The house seems inviting at first, a home we would all l
