From there, he moved across the pond to Vancouver, where he joined two multi-disciplinary teams at Environment Canada, one involved in the research and drafting of a coastal resource atlas of BC, and the other assessing environmental impacts associated with the proposed Alaska Highway Gas pipeline. A few years later, he made a career change, to hone his writing skills as a free-lance reporter/correspondent for various Vancouver newspapers, magazines and national publications.
