5 Stars from Reader's Favorite The love K.J. Field has for these marvels of space shines through her writing and illustrations. Each planet has a vibrant personality rooted in what makes them scientifically unique. The book perfectly balances accessibility for early readers through the pronunciation guide, beautiful paintings of personified planets, and simple vocabulary, while not shying away from more challenging and fascinating information about outer space. A must-have for science teachers! - Reviewed by Savannah Aldridge for Readers' Favorite My new favorite book on outer space! My sons love learning about the solar system and planets. Growing up in the era of pluto being named as a planet itself, I have always been sad that my favorite planet was demoted. This book is my new favorite book on outer space because it brings Pluto back into the forefront as a (dwarf) planet to learn about! The rhyming words, adorable illustrations, and additional facts added all work together to make an informative book that is not only educational but fun to read and listen to. A homeschooling mom's dream!!! -Reviewed by jj23 This is where the love of a starry night begins Wonderful book, colourful, good for giggles and dreaming on a warm summer night with the grandkids. My fav is Eris. -Reviewed by Justin Jones

Author Information

K.J. Field believes planets have funny voices and the cosmos is trying to tell us something. Her job is to listen deeply and help you hear them too. K.J. Field is an author, screenwriter, and space enthusiast who's been writing about the solar system, and particularly Pluto, since 2015. She began by researching dwarf planets for a fictional book she was writing and just kept on going. Now that she's a rampant Plutophile, there's no turning back! She has authored several space-themed fiction and non-fiction books, with more on the way. One of her favorite things to do with her writing is mix humor and science. K.J. Field is the voice behind the Planet Pluto on Twitter (Follow her @Plutoliveshere) and hopes to someday soon turn her screenplay about the plights and delights of the personified Pluto into an animated movie for all ages.
