Overview

THIS IS THE FIRST EDITION. PLEASE SEE OUR NEW, SECOND EDITION (ISBN: 9798989079735 or Ebook ISBN: 9798989079766). The 30 Days of Sex Talks program makes it simple for you to discuss love, sex, bodies and relationships in a comfortable setting. You and your child can talk about sex in the context in which it belongs; as part of a healthy relationship that also includes joy, laughter and the full range of emotion that defines human intimacy. Between the ages of eight and 11, children become much more aware of their bodies. Knowledge about how the human body works and how the body changes can empower your child! This book contains 30 topics for discussion including: puberty, curiosity, self-worth, and intimate relationships. These topics can be used to start important dialogue with your child while allowing you to interject your feelings, thoughts, and cultural beliefs. At the end of this book you will find a code that will allow you to download topic cards which can be printed and placed in strategic locations, such as a mirror, to remind you and your child to start talking! Remember that having these talks with your child will establish a pattern of healthy conversations for the future. Your goal is that your child will feel comfortable talking to you about anything as he or she grows into the healthy, knowledgeable person he or she will become.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I work with many children and adolescents who struggle to understand appropriate sexual behavior. Today's media centric culture makes teaching healthy sexual boundaries even more difficult than ever before. This book is a great way to address healthy sexuality, without the fear that many parents have about moralizing. Using this book as a starting point is a comfortable and helpful way to get these important concepts into the conversation with your children. This is an excellent tool for both professionals and parents. --Amazon Customer t can be so very difficult for parents to address the various issues around sex, social media and more. The 30 Days of Sex Talks series provides a helpful checklist that parents can readily follow to completely discuss sex and associated issues with their kids. I love the empowerment this series gives to parents by encouraging them to be the primary deliverers of sex talk messaging. The important notion that these are not one and done conversations are supported in this and the other books in this series. The age-appropriate material helps parents address issues kids face... and have questions about. Thank you Dina Alexander and the rest of the editorial team for producing these oh-so-helpful books for parents!!!! --Ginger Kadlec, Child's World America & Be a Kid's Hero Founder Great to have a resource for parents!! Sex education is taught at school is merely the biology side of sex, what about the relationship part, the intimacy and connection aspects of sex. What about the positive and possibly negative consequences? This book has been a great jumping off point for my husband and I to launch into our own conversations that now happen easyily throughout our daily life as questions or thoughts arise. We no longer need the book, it served more as a catalyst to begin. I think if kids find parents comfortable they they will be comfortable returning to ask questions or talk about sexual things but if we are uncomfortable squirmish, they will be that way with us and won't want to repeat the experience. This book helped me find my confidence and talk to my kids in a comfortable way! Thanks!! --Child Rescue, Australia

Comprised of parents and professionals, the mission of Educate and Empower Kids (EEK) is to empower parents to create deep connection with their kids through media education, meaningful family communication and intentional parenting. As a nonprofit 501(c)(3), EEK works across the country to provide essential resources for parents, educators and clinicians to teach children and teenagers how to become resilient and strong.
