OverviewThe idea for this book came to me in a flash. I was mulling over the many ways the diverse events of 2020 were changing our lives and, given my bent toward journalistic writing, felt the story needed to be covered. There were several sleepless nights when specific aspects of this story were rolling around in my brain. The many scraps of paper around my bed are testimony to the organic way these perspective pieces presented themselves to me. Each piece is a work in itself, and I hope they come across as separate epiphanies on a common theme. As we look back at human history of national and global disasters, even wars, we have endured, we realize that events of such magnitude will continue to send ripples through our society for decades, and perhaps longer. I think we can agree that we are forever changed by 2020 and it will become a benchmark by which we evaluate future calamities. This volume offers perspective pieces that address many of the issues raised by the way our government has chosen to react to what was called the COVID 19 pandemic. We have been at this all year and now continue into 2021. As mother, grandmother, and home-school teacher, she experienced many heartaches and victories, which she shares in a transparent and often humorous fashion. I heartily recommend this short, impactful book. ̶ Dana Sudboro, Adjunct Professor at Epic Bible College Part diary, part retrospective, this book presents an emotional yet clear picture of life in America during a time of confusion and duress, often putting it in relation to such times in our history. These insights will resonate with any reader who has or has not yet stopped to consider the human toll of national and individual decisions. A solid read. ̶ Carol Lerner, Writer and Editor Author InformationTab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
