Cheryl still remembers most of them. For eleven years, Cheryl wrote a weekly column for the Emporia Gazette about Kansas called Flyover People. Her two books of Kansas essays received the Kansas Notable Book Award - Flyover People: Life on the Ground in a Rectangular State (Quincy Press, 2010) and Waiting on the Sky: More Flyover People Essays (Quincy Press, 2014). Her poetry collection, Walking on Water, was published by Meadowlark Books in 2017. Owner/Publisher of Meadowlark Press, enjoys reading and writing about the people and places of her home state of Kansas, both real and imagined. She started Meadowlark Books in 2014.
