Dr. Dizon holds a dual appointment as Associate Professor in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is a 1991 graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and trained in Internal Medicine at Yale New-Haven Hospital followed by Medical Oncology specialization at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). While at MSKCC he developed expertise in gynecologic malignancies and received a Career Development Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology for work on platinum drug resistance. He was a member of the Developmental Therapeutics faculty and Gynecology Disease Management Team of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center until 2003 when he assumed his current role as the director of Medical Oncology for the Program in Women's Oncology of Women & Infants' Hospital of Rhode Island, where he also serves as theMedical Director of the Program's Integrative Care Program. In 2005 he helped establish the state's first Center for Sexuality, Intimacy, and Fertility for women with cancer. In 2005 he was elected Fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP) and he is currently on the Board of Directors for the Rhode Island chapter of the ACP. Nationally, he continues to pursue research in the novel treatments of both breast and gynecological cancers and is active in the Gynecologic Oncology Group, serving on Phase I, Developmental Therapeutics, and Cervix committees. He is the President of the National Consortium of Breast Centers and has federal funding to further explore the role of social networks in advance care planning of women with cancer. Michael L. Krychman, MD, FACOG, is the Medical Director of Sexual Medicine at Hoag Hospital, and the Executive Director of the Southern California Center for Sexual Health and Survivorship Medicine, both located in Newport Beach, CA. He is presently Associate Clinical Attending at the University of Southern California and the University of California Irvine. He is the former Co-Director of The Sexual Medicine and Rehabilitation Program at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Krychman holds licenses from 3 states (CA, PA, NY), and is a board certified OB/GYN. He is a clinical sexologist and AASECT-certified sexual counselor, with a Masters in Public Health and Human Sexuality. Dr. Krychman is on the editorial board for the Journal of Sexual Medicine, Current Sexual Medicine Report, and is an associate editor for Sexuality for The Female Patient. In addition to these two outstanding books, Dr. Krychman is coauthor of 100 Questions & Answers About Cervical Cancer (also published by Jones & Bartlett Learning), and has written numerous chapters for leading sexual medicine textbooks. Dr. Krychman's clinical interests include breast cancer sexuality, the impact of chronic medical diseases like hypertension, diabetes and cardiovascular disease health and its implications on sexual function. He also has a focus on the impact of sexuality and overall quality of life.
