Weald and Wen

Overview

In a scar through the majestic twin woods belting Mar's inner Shell, a wicked puppet has discovered shadows not his to claim. They wriggle and writhe in a manner too terrible, too familiar and he sets his sister's rabid curiosity to the task of finding their source. Source she finds and, fears confirmed, the wicked puppet plans for death. But his sister's resolve burns brighter than his brooding and she sets out in search of aid as ancient as the threat... A warning, of sorts Trauma is spread thick and deep throughout these pages. This story digs down into dark, uncomfortable, confusingly depraved places and it languishes there. In some cases it rolls around and giggles there. I promise some resolutions, and breaths of sweet release. There are quiet moments to counterbalance the agony but not everything resolves easily-or at all-and there are always worse horrors around the corner. If that sounds interesting to you; grab some tissues, find a safe, comfortable place where you can snuggle up and allow me to invite you into the dark recesses of my imagination.

Author Information

Amber Reinke has been obsessed with all things dark and unsettling since a teacher introduced her to Edgar Allen Poe in the fifth grade. That same teacher, no doubt weary of her regaling students with her own scary stories in the middle of class, would go on to encourage her to write them down. She has been many things since then never lost her love of telling unsettling tales. She lives in a creaky old house with her supportive and tolerant husband and their son Poe - who insisted his name be included...and that he is a necromancer. Amber is currently writing far more things than she should be and is stuck under two large, overly affectionate cats - please send help.
