Overview

Anna in Hebrew is Hanna. His parents were Matan and Emerentia, both of whom were of the seed of David, and of the priestly caste of Levi. Mathan was a native of Bethlehem and raised sheep (Matthew 1:15). Anna was born in Bethlehem, in the region of Judea. As a teenager, Anna married Joachim of Nazareth, in the region of Galilee. Both were descendants of David. Mary was a young virgin of Jewish origin, from the city of Nazareth in Galilee. She was the daughter of Jehoiachin and Anna, both descendants of King David. According to the Gospel of Luke, the Gospel of Matthew, and the Acts of the Apostles, our Virgin Mary lived in the late 1st century B.C., and until the middle of the 1st century A.C.
