Overview

Kingdom of Frederick II of Swabia, early 13th century. Riccardo, orphaned of his father, grows up with his mother and grandfather on a farm north of Otranto. His serene childhood, shared with his friend Idrusa, is shattered by the arrival of the monk Pantaleone, who leads him to the Abbey of Casole to fulfill his father's wish: to become a Knight Templar. In Otranto, Riccardo discovers for the first time the majestic mosaic of the Cathedral, the enigmatic work of Pantaleone himself, and is struck by the image of King Arthur. Years later, when Idrusa is taken from him, he chooses to follow a Dutch merchant, a scholar of Arthur and the Holy Grail. It will be the beginning of a journey that will forever change his destiny, binding him to the mystery of the mosaic, without ever breaking the thread that ties him to Idrusa and to his homeland.
