THE LIFE OF JO MERSA MARLEY Jo Mersa Marley was a reggae artist and the son of legendary musician Bob Marley. He was born on December 21, 1986 in Kingston, Jamaica. Jo Mersa Marley was very close with his father and often accompanied him on tours. He learned to play the guitar from his father and even sang backup vocals for him on some of his songs. Mersa Marley released his debut album Comfortable in 2013, which featured a mix of reggae and dancehall influences. He was known for his activism and often used his music to address social and political issues, including the legalization of marijuana. In 2015, Mersa Marley was involved in a car accident which left him with serious injuries and forced him to cancel several tour dates. Mersa Marley passed away on October 2, 2020 at the age of 33.
